Martin Luther King
-Martin Luther King was the leader of the Civil Rights movement for Blacks in the United States during the middle of the 20th century. He studied Theology (eventually earning a PhD from Boston University), and later became involved with the Civil Rights movement after the Rosa Parks incident. Influenced by Gandhi, King advocated peace demonstrations and protest, and made many impassioned speeches which remain benchmarks in the course of the Civil Rights movement and American history in General. Many see his "I Have a Dream" speech as a moment defining the essence of the Civil Rights movement.
