The Korean War and Yalu River
-The Korean War (between the north and south) lasted from 1950-1953.
-A U.N. counter-offensive drove the North Koreans past the 38th parallel and almost to the Yalu River.
- China sent in almost a million troops, pushing the South Koreans back behind the 38th parallel and almost driving them off the peninsula.
-Communism is protected in the north end of Korea which remains even today.
