Nikita Krushchev and De-Stalinization
-In 1953 Stalin dies. Malenkov then becomes the Soviet leader from 1953-55.
-He was then replaced by Nikita Krushchev in 1955 who was chosen by a group called the Politburo.
-He starts to remove any support for stalin using De-Stalinization. This involves things such as taking down statues of Stalin.
-First act was to form Warsaw Pact.
-This signalled less harsh treatment of the Satellite states.
