Motives of the USA
-Big three (USA, Great Britain, France)
-President Woodrow Wilson Came up with "the 14 points", his plan for a "just and lasting" peace.
-Germany was considered responsible for WWI by the Big Three.
-He did not agree with the other members of the Big Three as he believed that Germany should be rebuilt democratically. The others wanted to go with a more harsh approach in dealing with Germany including demanding war reparations (payments for war damages).
-He believed that they should be somewhat lenient towards Germany.
-Wanted to allow smaller European nations to decide their own political futures and actions with the effort of self determination (to govern themselves).
-Created the League of Nations.
