The Six Days War, 1967
-In 1967 Nasser expelled the UN Peacekeeping force from the Panama canal zone.
-The Egyptians close the straits to the Israelis and mass troops on the border. Any closure of the Straits would be considered an act of war against Israel.
-The Israelis, with the help of intelligence, knew of the attack and followed through with the first-strike policy.
-They destroyed the Egyptian airforce, took the Sinai Peninsula, took Golan Heights and took West Bank (the whole war lasts 6 days).
-The USA needed to step in to halt attacks since they feared angering the other Arab nations.
