- After the Yom Kippur War, US president Jimmy Carter organized a meeting between Anwar Sadat (of Egypt) and Menachem Begin (of Israel), to discuss the possibility of peace.

- The palestinian refugee problem was to be negotiated.
- Irseal was allowed access to the Suez Canal.
- Israel would get there oil supply from Egypt.

Subjunctive Question: Were the Camp David accords, knowing what we do about the PLO, really that consequential? Could the leaders have been more influential if they had remained in their own countries and incited change there (also knowing that they would die at the hands of their own people)?
