Motives of France
-George Clemenceau, the leader of France, thought the opposite of Woodrow Wilson and the USA regarding Germany.
-He wanted to punish and weaken Germany to the point where they couldn't gain enough power to create war again.
-He wanted to do with by using severe war reparations (payments for war damages) paid to accomplish this. The payments would be so high that Germany could not even pay off the interest and were subject to remaining in debt.
